Planes, Trains, & Automobiles (& a Segway Too!!) - from Katie

Ed. note -- Here we are in the North Sea. We've had sketchy internet service whilst in London (& they didn't activate the international roaming on my phone), so we're coming to you tonight via satellite.

I thought the plane was going to stay up in the sky FOREVER. I didn't want to sleep on the plane. I wanted to watch TV. After the plane landed, we walked around the airport, and I pulled my ladybug suitcase with m toys ALL BY MYSELF. Mommy forgot my stroller at baggage claim, so she had to go back to get it. We got on a bus and went to the hotel for a quick nap. I didn't want to wake up. Then, we got on a HOHO bus (ed. note - stands for Hop On, Hop Off) and rode around London. We saw some really old buildings, like Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament, which didn't look like a house at all to me. We even went to see Buckinham Palace, where the Queen of England, Elizabeth II lives. We knew that she was at home because her special flag was flying. My favorite part of London was riding the bus and riding a train called the Tube (ed. note -- The London Underground). It went very fast.

Today, we took got in the car and went to see another castle, called Leeds Castle. The castle is over 900 years old!! They had a playground there, and I played with Daddy. Mommy & Aunt Laura took a different ride around the castle. It was called a Segway. All you have to do is stand on it, and it drives you around. Mommy says it was a lot like playing balance games on the Wii. Then, we went to a special church called Canterbury Cathedral. It is where all the pilgrims went in the book Canterbury Tales. We had to be very quiet inside the Cathedral. After that, we got on a VERY big boat called the Norwegian Jewel. The town where the boat was had ANOTHER castle, called Dover Castle. There are a lot of castles here. We're sailing now, and the boat is rocking back & forth in the water.

It's after midnight here, and I'm the only one who isn't exhausted. The boat doesn't stop anywhere tomorrow, so I'll go to the playroom here.

I be right back (ed. note -- her new phrase, said while she holds up her pointer finger as a stop sign).

Katie
