City Services

We're in Helsinki, Finland today. The weather is gorgeous, and we've had a good time walking around and seeing the sights. They have an open air market that was established in 1892 full of stalls with produce, hot food, crafts, art, bread, jams, fish, etc. It's my favorite thing today. We saw a marching band go by, and I will post the video when I get back home. The internet on the ship is too slow and expensive to upload video. We're online today at city hall. They have free internet for those holding a library card or for guests. They also have free, clean bathrooms. As travelers, we appreciate their high taxes to provide city services. Finland is VERY family friendly. The keyboard is a little different, and every time I try to hit the ' button I get ä instead. Oh well, small price to pay. Did I mention it was free? We also visited the Academic Bookstore, the largest bookstore in Europe. I didn't buy any books because they were expensive, but I did see a few that I might check for on Amazon later. We only have about an hour before we have to head back to the ship, and there are more sights to see. So, bye for now (that's "Näkemiin" in Finnish)
