If you're wondering what we were up to the last 2 days of vacation, we were busy racking up fabulous plastic prizes! To fill the hours in the day, there are various gatherings, contests, and activities organized by the cruise activity director. We played trivia a few times and came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, for which we got "signature" points on our punch card.
We also entered the Skydiving Chicken competition where our task was to build a contraption out of predetermined materials to protect an egg from being dropped from the upper deck of the ship. Our kit consisted of 2 sheets construction paper, a balloon with the end cut off, 3 feet of curly ribbon, 2 feet of crepe paper streamer, a small piece of styrofoam, 2 bent paper clips, and half a bandana. We forgot to take the camera to document the launch and capture our victory. Oh well. Our egg survived the fall (the lone one out of about a dozen entrants) only to get smashed by the cruise staff on its victory flight. We left the trophy behind for future skydivers. Our suitcases were already full of dirty laundry and souvenirs.
